Something fun to do year-round!
Starting in January, Winterfest celebrates the fun side of winter with everything from a WinterFeast sampling from local restaurants, to the famous Polar Plunge at Chetola.
Held each year during the first weekend of April, the Blowing Rock Trout Derby celebrates the opening of trout season in the High Country. Followed by that is SAVOR Blowing Rock – a festival of wine, food, craft beer and spirits.
Throughout the summer Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show attracts annual exhibitors from all over the United States and several foreign countries and has the distinction of being recognized as the oldest continuous outdoor horse show in America.
Art in the Park offers the best in fine arts and crafts shopping once a month, May through October on Park Avenue.
You can buy locally grown produce, honey and flowers at the weekly Blowing Rock Farmer's Market or enjoy an old-fashioned parade on the Fourth of July. Games in Memorial Park, downtown trick-or-treating, scavenger hunts, and the much anticipated Monster March help celebrate Halloween.
Then, pause for a moment from your Christmas shopping to watch as the Mayor flips the switch to light up the town during Christmas in the Park and Lighting of the Town!
